I've been crying and smiling to myself like a crazy person. Unrequited love with your close friend is surely like this...well, at least mine was... (╥﹏╥ ) Btw, I love those beautiful characters and their development. It's not slow-paced but not too sudden. The mangaka also made good points with "gay relationship matters" (I loved Irony Dress ni Sayonara a lot because of this as well). Can't wait to read more of Yone senpai's storyヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
Saying it like that, it makes me think his ability could actually be "leeching" on others' abilities as he says he's not born with an ability of his own. He might be able to borrow it from another or even stealing from them like a leech... (just like Rogue from X-men or Peter Petrelli from Heroes)
A I believe he can sense people's ability because he sensed the doc before he came around the corner and also the invisible dude in a previous chapter.
I think he just sensed his aura ^^
But I think his "ability" must be something like "instinct" ya know

...that makes me feel like being "educated" about gay life in many prospective through the eyes of teenagers. It still has entertaining sides of a manga, but how the story explores more on the mental side of the characters in various situations making it more like an illustrated book for coming out of the closet. It's a good, slow-paced, yet very realistic manga anyway.
I like the art and the story's pace which are truly beautiful. But somehow this makes my heart ache... I really hope it will have a happy ending although it doesn't give off the light-hearted vibe... （/TДT)/
I know right. Even the title makes my heart ache, Goodbye Lilac.. and they said in chap 6 that Lilac means first love in flower language... ╥﹏╥
