happy weekend! Ch 38 is up.
Haha, it looks like we'll have to postpone the plan to go on hiatus, thanks to the hardworking translator who temporarily emerged from her own hiatus to deliver more scripts despite being busy with the start of school herself. We'll have enough chapters to last for about 2 months, so we'll defer the plan until we run out of chapters. Enjoy!

Sigh... I need a translator... anybody know a Korean who will be willing to donate their time to work with me on this? I'll continue doing everything else + buying the raws, I just need a translator... T_T

Absolutely love this author and all of her works! I hope this one gets popular because it looks so good. I wish someone could help me translate the Garden of the Blind too, since a non-native like me can't do a decent job all on my own... T_T

This is quite a good depiction of the reality that gay people face when they come out. I sincerely wish that our society will move toward a better understanding & acceptance for gay people. It's hard enough to live & find true love as a person who fits "the normal" standard of society. I can't imagine the pain of being shunned by your own family/friends, and not being protected or acknowledged by the law of the country just because you are different. I hope people who are struggling can stay strong & find acceptance. And I pray the world will be a better place soon. T_T

Ch 37 is up.
Just as a heads-up, after releasing ch 38 next week, we most likely will be going into hiatus for a while. With school back in session, & busy schedule at work, we have staff who need to take a break (this includes the translator who is on hiatus already). I don't know exactly when we will able to come back & share chapters with you again (maybe until the next school break?). But in any case, our currently available staff will clean/redraw as many chapters as possible in preparation of the translator's return. Hopefully, this will help improve the speed when we do have scripts to work on again. I thank everyone for patience & understanding. Have a nice weekend!

The manga may not look like much compared to the anime, which is one of the best animated series I've ever watched, hands-down. But you have to agree that the original story is incredible. Few series invoke such complex emotions like this. Set up in the sengoku era, the series depict a landscape of people suffering from constant wars, poverty, natural disasters, plague, etc. Meanwhile, many lords of the domain were just greedy men, eager to expand their territories at the expense of their citizens. Hyakkimaru was born to one of these feudal lords, who thought up of setting up a contract with demons in order to improve the condition of his impoverished domain, & fulfill his ultimate ambition to conquer the land to become the supreme ruler of all. The demons took parts of Hyakkimaru's body as the payment. The story is brilliant. The anime did change many things in the story to improve, but the overlying idea is still pretty much the same. It amazes me that Osamu Tezuka was able to cook up this story in the 1960s. So much conflicting emotions when I watched this series. On one side, Hyakkimaru was fighting to regain his rightful body to become a full human, and on the other, his father along with his entire domain fought back to keep their fragile prosperity. Both sides mercilessly fought each other to obtain their respective goals, risking to lose their humanity in the process. It makes you question the morality, whether sacrificing one small life to save many is indeed the correct answer. It's simply brilliant. This will always stay as my favorite series ever. I wish we have more series like this, so deep & profound, so thought-provoking. For people who can't stand reading the old style of the manga, I definitely highly recommend the anime, which is a more polished version.

It's up. Starting next episode, the series will take on a much darker, more disturbing tone, as the plot thickens. The psychological aspect will become much more apparent than before, & this will go on for many, many chapters.
