It's annoying. I'm not an idiot that doesn't realize that there are power dynamic issues at hand in the story. Does the translator really think that I can't see that on my own? I don't read this story for realistic BDSM, I read it for the fantasy it provides. If people don't like that, then don't read it. If anyone reads fiction and thinks that it's a direct translation of reality, then they need to stick to Hamtaro. I know I have my head on straight, I don't need someone to be browbeating me about how 'problematic' the smut I consume is as if I couldn't come to that conclusion myself, especially since I have no interest in pursuing a relationship with anyone IRL.

If you have suuuuuuch a problem with it, rant about it on Tumblr instead of on the direct translation. Some of us readers actually like the story because it's smut and it breaks that SSC boundary. That's part of the appeal.

Ok. I understand liking a story that breaks the normative is perfectly fine, I also have my favorite ones. To begin with, it's simply not real, and thankfully most of us know how to separate fiction from reality. This is the most basic skill of all lol glad that you have it as well ig??? I can understand being annoyed by the translator's notes because it's distracting, I agree that it would be nice if the translator left their notes/personal opinions at the very of the chapter (Ive seen that) or simply publish them on another platform rather than in between the panels. But again, I was not talking about that.

I've seen a lot of concerning comments of users who were just mad because the translator is absolutely right? Almost as if they don't want to hear it so they completely excuse every single thing that happens here with an edgelord argument -_- Having "dark" characters is okay but the problem lands when the story and the characters themselves are shitty. Not because it's problematic, but because of how brainless everything is. The abuse is taken as nothing and the darkness only serves to torture one freaking character while excusing others, shitty writing fr. I agree with you that the translator needs to stop putting their point of view in the middle of the chapters because it can be annoying but I believe it's necessary to showcase that this is a terrible story. I would actually laugh if someone did this in potn, another romanticized rape story. The justification there is the period of time and here apparently is that it's BDSM bye.

In the end anyone can decide if they agree or not, people can even decide to read the damn notes. Its not that big of a deal.

And that's why people can write a whole essay how Minho wronged Doona because the matter is taken seriously and discussed. Meanwhile Minho's trauma is swept under a rag and overlooked. And many readers buy into this narrative.
