first, i hate how people get mad at haesol when he's a victim of duna himself. he's blinded by his "love" for her and forces himself to do whatever she wants just to stay by her side. he's wasting so much of his time on her and even realizes how messed up she is but can't escape. of course it's not 100% duna's fault that haesol is so "in love" with her but she keeps on leading him on and provoking him in her ways even if not intending to.
next, i hate how *some* [key word: some] people are making byun minho out to be the only victim of duna's abuse. other characters have been affected by her unsafe and toxic BDSM like haesol almost getting strangled to death and gyerin, a lesbian, getting manipulated to perform sexual activites with another man (that man being haesol). also, back to minho, some people completely dismiss his toxic behavior and complexes just because the other characters are clearly worse. im always on the victims side but if you see from outside the abuse, he's also not a character you should praise. his personality is horrible and he's just an extremely explosive and superiority driven guy. his past is also part of the cause so as much as he needs justice, he also needs help.
lastly, gyerin seems to be the best character as far as i've seen, next to minho's ex co-worker (the dude whos wife just got pregnant), and maybe duna's brother, excluding the situation with his girlfriend looking like haesol as a girl. she blindly fell in love or took interest in duna and after she read the situation and realized how duna's horrible behavior towards her and her other partners are, she gave up on her and put duna in her place for a moment. unlike haesol (which we can't blame haesol for how he handles all of this), she knew to give up and find someone else which i think was the girl in her side story, idk i haven't read it. my standards are very low for who the "best character" is since they all lack common sense, so seeing gyerin with at least a little bit of knowledge on how toxic this was gonna end up, she followed her understanding and did what was the right thing to do.
i'm hoping most of the characters get the help they need, including: haesol, wookyung, duna,
and minho. possibly some of the people around them too and others that have been affected by their whole affair, you could call it.
i wish the best for haesol and minho to overcome what they're going through. i hope haesol becomes successful in writing or whatever it is he wants to do, also to have a relationship perfect for him/his partner and minho to turn his life around and his writing habits to change into something he and others can benefit from. much love to gyerin and her love life. as well as the ex co-worker having a healthy baby and relationship with his wife. <3
[ps: the cats and literature dude would probably be in my "best character" list if he knew about duna's rape habits and stopped defending her, i'm sure he's smart enough to know what she's been doing is wrong but he just doesn't know about it yet]
