Someone who becomes psychotic and/or violent when it comes to their crush/significant other. Like, their crush is dating someone, then the yandere might kill the person that is dating their crush. (This is my personal interpretation.)

I wouldn't say any of these are yanderes, they're just obsessed, but I don't think they would hurt anyone.

Adding to what Enny said, Yanderes are also known to be capable of physically hurting their loved ones, and the extreme ones of being capable or having thoughts of killing their loved one in a jealous rage or from the thought of a breakup/separation. Perfect example of a Yandere is Chiharu from Fujisaki Kou's "Kemono" series. You can check it out here:

The contrary of tsundere, while tsundere pretends to be mean in the outside but it's a totally good person in the inside, the yandera look like good civilized people in the outside, but inside are possessive, agressive, etcetera
