I think the people defending the MC are a little bit brainwashed with him. “He’s not a good brother.” It’s more like he’s not being a good character.
Once his family acts out in a way that hinders his plans, he seems to be able to avoid them right away and easily. But his main goal was to play a role and stick to it so that he can return to the real world in the end, yet he lets this man into his life so easily. He didn’t even really try to avoid him.
He’s doing this to also not cause himself pain because the second he stresses, he would get nosebleeds etc. This dude fell for this man’s D so quickly. Ifyou had a plan to stay detached from your family in order to get yourself back in the real, world then you should stick to avoiding this dude until you’re supposed to meet him too. It seems that he’s putting this guy above the people in his real life. He didn’t even write down anything about his family.
And honestly, I get that he is a bit miserable in this book world and finds solace in this guy, and that he avoids his family because their affection is for the book character he plays and not him. But this guy also thinks you’re the character. And yes, he’s getting to know you and only you, but how will the MC explain that this whole world is a book and he’s not real if it gets to the point that he can return or something supernatural happens?

ur forgetting the key part that he was literally in love with tae(the sunbae) in his real world (those feelings dont just magically disappear and neither do memories, they are just blocked off somewhere and reappear in the form of things such as dreams, which is happening in this) + all of the stuff he wrote down right when he woke up (included family details which btw are incredibly traumatizing for him to remember regardless and our brains automatic defense mechanism is to forget to protect itself from further damage, which in some cases it creates a whole other personality(ies) to take on those memories which results in DID) got thrown out by the body he inhabits now's mother LOL
