I don't really understand the low rating. I've read countless boring BLs with barely any plot rated 9.0 and above. Yes, there are lots of dubious consent in this one. Also grooming, yandere MC, self harming etc. Nothing unusual for a BL piece tho. I find the narrative quite beautiful, very Gwendolyn style with its yearning for love. The pacing is pretty good, and the artstyle is nice to look at.
It definitely deserved a higher rating. I would only give it a low rating because I hated the sister if I was into giving things low ratings. That ending had me flabbergasted. I just remember him giving that little speech about how he could’ve cut off his arms and legs or whatever and kept him and I’m just thinking bro pop off. And then he let him leave for two years??? bounces back and instead of a birthday party, you have like a faux wedding while getting mean mugged by his family? Tf I’m dying. Man did not give two shits. And we still have no heir to the throne.
Gwendolyn is one of my fav BL writers so the storyline is still as fun as usual. The art tho..... feels like everyone got plastic surgeries

Solid storyline, albeit a bit frustrating. Drawing also quite pretty. Deserved much higher rating tbh.
Even the character design as well, esp the uke. So uncanny.....

This was, likely still is in some areas, very common for any form of smut. Drawing things only when needed. Part of it was due to censorships, others really just laziness or not wanting to draw attention away from other things. Similar to how artists don't always draw a dick dangling about, because it's not a sexual scene or one that'll turn into one, hence they don't draw one in that panel. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
But yeah, it was very common in old mangas to just draw nips for the uke, simply because the top didn't need them for any sort of scene. All readers have made fun of that since ancient times tbh. 'Stolen nipples' was basically a running gag from way back when. XD
