Its because them meeting again didn't happen in her past life. For all she knows he completely forgot about her, and then now here in her second life, without expecting that she would ever see him again, he sees her, immediately recognizes her and calls after her. It was probably just an overload of emotion. And she didn't know that zero tempered with the letter.
