Makoto may not be into that kinda thing. Just like how Luca is into polyamorous, Makoto is most likely monogamous. It may cause a shift in their relationship if they do not find an agreement for their situation as a couple in the future.
Though it isn't cheating, many people may view it as that. Makoto seems pretty simple, so this kind of dynamic could turn out to pretty uncomfortable for the guy.
Being polyamorous isn't a bad thing in any way, but a lot of people are not yet able to grasp onto the concept of it.

Right? Though I do understand that this could become a future problem. It does not seem to me that the main characters are irrational and/or close minded to their beliefs. I hope the topic of Polygamy is not based on stereotypes and rather a more realistic view. Like being Poly-by-orientation is different for many people who identify as one. Some take it as a lifestyle others take it as an aspect of their life they can’t change. I hope their love and respect for one another lead them to a great relationship wether they are together or not.
