The parents probably care for their education as nobles since the other nobles would destroy them if they act like kids, that time they all must teach their children properly with good etiquette too, thats how theyll see whp will potentially be leading high society in the future, especially since theyre dukes, all eyes and scrutiny will be on them, so parents cant allow themselves to only be nice and not be strict, theyve been nice so far, they never shouted, never hit, never insulted their kids, they listen to them, theyre always there, they care for them, take them outside, bring good tutors, they all eat together as a family, they allowed Cain and Il tu learn swordplay and more togrther, they paid the debt of Il-kun, took care of the kids from the orphanage, they taught their son well when he went mad with the crown prince, they taught them well and most of the time they're spoiling their kids, but as parents you obviously must teach them how to be more responsible from a young age and how to adapt to society's rules, and thats what theyre doing, their job as parents. True they could lay low on some stuff, but no one ia perfect, theyre young and its their first time being parents, it's not like theirs loved them in that era, theyve been as a whole pretty good people, good nobles and nice, understanding parents. They even thought about how they brought them up, amd regretted not spoiling Cain as much with their affection so they're making it up through other means, so far sl good.

I don’t know where the manhua is at right now, but the plot twists in the novel is like one after the other I almost swore a couple of times. A mukjang that was written so well and emotional lmao. I also think the novel is a lot better when viewing a bunch of things because it is written as if the MC wrote it himself “like a diary” then you would see writings from other characters prospective which isn’t shown much in the WEBTOON and you’re like “Ahaaaa” that makes a lot more sense, or that’s so sad, or that’s helirious.
Ok I’ll stop here haha I’m just in love with well written plots. The other novel that gave me similar affect was for “trash of the count family”. Really good writers.
