The dad is neglectful, he gives more attention to one over the other, yet even when he knew about the bullying he never disciplined or even tried to stop it by having a family chat, he only treats them as successor or potential successor, basically tool, he doesn't care for either of them, he's just shitty, Killian and Lexion neither of them is an adult, they don't have the internet or the books we have, or communities to tell what's wrong or what's right, they don't have a mother, their father only speaks of their family name and honor and reputation and is mostly never present, while the servants well...theyre servants so basically yes men. It's understandable he would come to this point, also siblings fight is normal, the older sibling being bigger and meaner is also what we're used to IRL too, them feeling jealous about the attention going to the youngest, not being conscious that the youngest is also being neglected and are only seen as a sort of valuable "tool" for the narcissistic parent...man I took it kinda far haha, I've been reading too much about this, anyway, they're kids, kids fight, Lexion is weaker, Killian takes it too far and is never disciplined for it, he is never taught why his actions are wrong and how to be better, no one is here to teach him, no mother no father no right friend, the dad just tells him to act good for appearance sake, just trash. And he thinks that Lexion is getting all that he should be getting, he should direct his anger towards his father who is so bad as a parent, and Elena too I believe but as she said he is still a Duke, in those times who could dare to tell a Duke or their offsprings what the right thing to do is, even Elena only blames him and screams at him, that's not her job obviously, she isn't his mom but if she wants to act like Super Nanny that she better do it right, with the techniques needed and have a chat with the bad neglectful dad as well.
