Back then, the only historical bl i've ever read is Painter Of The Night because I wasn't really a fan. But damn, when I started Mo Dao Zu Shi, i can't get out anymore of these historicals anymore. I read more historicals until I get to this story. Now, for the second reason. I don't really have a great trust to China itself. It's where Covid-19 started. I am a Filipino as well and there's this issue about the West Philippines Sea's real owner and China is claiming it is theirs. To inform you, I was really triggered by this issue. Like I am a little patriotic to my country. So, China WAS a no-no and manhua WAS a no-no (except for here u are). But damn it! You know what? I want to read straight romance manhwas but i'm starting to feel tired of them and i just realized why. At first, i thought maybe i'm becoming abnormal because i also thought I prefer to read bl now and i can barely read 10 chap of bxg stories. But it's not the case, i recently read a straight romance manga(not manhwa) which is modern-based and i'm surprised because i am able to finish it and actually enjoyed it to the point that i feel butterflies in my stomach. By then, i realized that i'm growing tired of straight manhwas for the reason that they're almost all either isekai or royalty-based with fucking princesses, emperor plots. I want more that took place in modern world. By the way, don't mind me. I'm just ranting became i'm really frustrated.
Realization of mine: It's not that I prefer bl than bxg and it's also not that i prefer bxg than bl. It's just i'm tired of isekai and princess-themed manhwas.
