I seriously thought I was the only one wanting to know more about him. Everybody is always ready to throw shit at him but -almost- nobody actually wants to know what's going on with him.
I have a theory he's been abused throughout his whole childhood (it's weird to imagine a child with no traumas to greet his classmates by showing his private parts and saying "i hope you'll be friends with him too!" I'm led to think some adult might have said that once to him while getting ready to do ugly things with Yuri and he was led to think it was something people say normally.)
Also his mom is never home and his dad is nowhere to be found, he's left by himself. I truly find adorable how his hunger comes back once Tamura goes to his home and cooks for him. As if he was so happy he got hyped and hungry.
I could go on for ages about the fact he only talks normally when Jimmy's involved (and i believe it's cause he probably sees himself in Jimmy, so he takes care of him) or how he's literally a genius at school and he even takes advanced classes for gifted students (other theory: i believe he always needed to be a model student cause otherwise he would be beaten from his parents, so studying became a habit and a coping mechanism to help him getting distracted from his life as a whole. I also believe he purposely chooses to switch off his brain whenever it's not needed and act like a total child, free from boundaries and common sense. And having carefree sex is still a part of this coping mechanism of his. He does everything he can not to think about his life. I'm sure of it.

There are a few occasions in which his face is just too sad to be only a prankster.
And I'm sure he keeps his glasses on to hide the emptiness in his eyes, cause it probably would be an unbearable sight. Maybe he started wearing them as a kid to cover some bruises and kept them on for life as a personal little shield.

I can't believe everyone just stops at his outer appearance and literally no one takes just one step further into his actual character. How can you not make theories on such characters???
We all know all the other works from Tanaka sensei, you literally HAVE to expect angsty backstories. I'm literally speechless at the majority of Yarichin watchers/readers who just deem it a yaoi with no plot at all.

OMG YOU'RE A FELLOW YURI STAN I LOVE YOU! YES YES YES! The story is slowly developing and we will surely see all of their backstories! We've already seen little Jimmy throwing himself from a balcony, and I already see little hints of angst in the present as well : Akemi x Itome, Shikatani... If someone only looks at sex scenes, this may look like a fun and empty story, but it actually has a HUGE plot, every character is so well defined with a unique personality, Tanaka sensei is a Genius!

YESSSSSSS and i just love so much his friendship with Tamura. I love how Tamu just stays by his side. He doesn't question him, he just stays by him whether he acts weird or not. And i think it's what Yuri needs the most. Someone who won't judge him no matter what.
(Also i recently got their two mushrooms tattooed on my arm sooo )

Btw yes, can't wait to see what's going on with Akemi and Itome, cause it kinda seems like Itome keeps his relationship with Akemi almost out of guilt/??? Can't really pinpoint how their relationship is actually like.
Shikatani is another character i deeply love. He deserves all the best in this world ;;

Anyway i totally agree. Sex is just a huge cover for major tragedies and angst and that's why I'm always saying "the real Yarichin" is actually for very few people. Cause everyone can see what's in bright sight but only a few can look through it and SEE for real.

i don't want to be understood wrong but i can say that if you have some trauma from the past regarding other people, no matter how good and pure the new person is: they just might seem irritating for you and you might get annoyed by everything comming from them. especially if that person looks bright and kind of popular, it makes it worse. speaking of real life experience Σ( ￣□￣||)
