If the grandma dies, there'll be no more reasons to stay with Jaeshit, since there won't be any hospital fees to pay anymore.
The reason why everyone thinks her time has come is because we've seen Jaeshit seem a good person when he was with the grandma. I don't think Dan just leaving or not answering the phone would make him go "what?" in shock, he'd probably think he'll come back because he needs the money.

not really, jaekyung has paid all of dan's debts so frankly the debt has been transferred from the loan sharks to jaekyung. dan is still indebted. his grandmother's death won't change anything other than add another fraction of a second to his staying by jaekyung's side.

I decided to bite the bullet read try to read the story and skip the weird part and it's overall weird. It's trying to make the adult not seem so bad because it's "true love" even tho when he fell in love with the main character, And the adult st the time was in like late middle/early high school. And the main character was in elementary
