Wish they would, im tired of seeing no development between these two

^^^ (to scheibel) they actually do have development tho??? seems awfully like you're ignoring a lot of whats happened between them, they've come a long way from the beginning. its not uncommon for the author to go back and forth between serious chapters to more comedic ones in which people notice things a lot less BECAUSE they have a light air to them. especially since the story stared off with just funny chapters in the first place and only started getting more serious later on. this story is a slow burn - the chapters are short and time moves slow [12-17 chapters can be one whole day]. the other couple have done even less than these two (makes sense when they've known each other for less time / have enemies to lovers trope.. needs proper more buildup so they will probs be even slower). point is, the comedy chapters aren't bad - its how the story started off. i don't think its fair to judge the couples when there is a non serious chapter. maybe slow burn isnt for you and you should try to find a story where things happen quick at a more natural time pace. (hope that doesn't sound sassy.. just genuine advice)

The other couple is faster. If you count the amount of chapters they've actually appeared in it's not even 100 and they've already gone from enemies to basically friends (in their own way).

hm... I don't think so. I wouldn't say they are enemies but they are definitely not friends. mo still doesn't trust he tian very much (understandably considering how their relationship started and how long they've known each other) and still vehemently shows that he doesn't want to hang around him, constantly telling him to fuck off and that he doesn't want to do things with him etc., tries to get away from him and what not.. still essentially bicker as how they did in the beginning tbh. they're not friends yet (they're not so much enemies like they were before but def not friends), they still need to build that trust (and it seems like it's heading that way soon).. saying "in their own way" doesn't suddenly make it true no matter how much we want it to be. their relationship (or the other couple's) needs no rush.. it's needs a natural buildup. they're not faster at all. but they'll get there eventually. mo hasn't really shown any initiation from his side besides once (touching he tian's hand) while with zheng xi, we've seen him grab jian yi's hand on multiple occasions of his own volition, take jian yi to a mountain top with sparklers for his birthday, call jian yi handsome, blush on mutilple occasions around him, told him he wanted to protect him, hugged him, cradled his face, ask jian yi repeatedly what his feelings were, kissed his forehead, and jian yi has officially confessed and has even become a little more confident in showing his feelings for Zheng xi now. I don't think the author would move the side couple faster anyways just because it would be unnatural (as in bad writing) since it would be so rushed considering they've only known each other for two weeks and are the enemies to lovers trope. and as in most enemies to lovers trope.. they usually don't just fall straight into love or into friends really.. There is usually a stage of "tolerance" where they become more patient/accepting/trusting of each other before becoming friends. and since this story is slow burn as the other person said, I doubt the time would be moved any faster no matter how much we'd want it to simply because we wanted to see stuff happen more (I CRY lol). I don't think mo hates he tian (after he tian fought she li so that's improvement/progress yay) but he def doesn't like him (yet) and still clearly has trust issues with him, doesn't feel comfortable around him and letting him in (hopefully he will soon).. they've had less chapters but they definitely haven't moved faster within those less chapters or had any vast changes as I would say the main couple (xi went from literally being petrified of how other might see them as gay to completely initiating things on his own and slowly coming to realize his feelings for jian yi (also have to remember that he and jian yi have been friends and already have a long history together and there is already an established trust within their relationship and there has been enough time for their feelings to grown for one another into a romantic love). these relationships have two different tropes so they won't be the same. development has nothing to do with time anyways - it's simply development. regardless saying the main couple have "none" would be a huge lie if refusing to awknowldege anything between them or just ignorance. I'm just glad both these couples are endgame. and I actually personally like the slow burn between both because it makes every little thing that happened between them all the more special compared to mangas which just hand us everything we want in 10 chapters (not that those are bad, but it's nice to freak out over tiny things we may overlook in other mangas sometimes - if that makes sense, I'm getting off topic tho omg lol).

Guanshan is a tsundere so he's the type to say they aren't friends but then hang out with them even if he doesn't have to. Just like he left after the kiss he could leave during those other events. He chooses not to.

Keep in mind Tian & Guanshans story already reached this (218) point and it's only taken 50 or so chapters while Xi and Yi had 100+ in addition to knowing each other almost all their life.

mo is a tsundere but he always tells he tian he doesn't want to hang with him until he tian forces him to (usually by pinning him down or otherwise when mo doesn't do what he wants). I feel like mo feels that he has no choice, hence the lack of trust as I've said earlier. he was pretty much only able to leave during the kiss cause he tian knew after seeing him cry that he did wrong. the day mo says nothing and it's quite clear he chooses to hang out with he tian or simply doesn't mind being with him anymore or doesn't say "no" will become the day when we see he's beginning to feel more comfortable with him and trust him more. we know his character to be a tsundere but we've only ever really seen him truly warm up (and act completely calm and different) to his mother.. we've yet to see him act like that with he tian (or anyone else really). you assume that because he is a tsundere that it means he must really already consider himself friends with he tian (in a hidden way) but we have yet to see any proof of that. no actions of his own violition or otherwise. and 19 days isn't like other stories where we get to see the inside of the characters heads very much (sadly). we can only really base things on what we've seen and we haven't seen mo wanting or becoming tolerant of he tian enough to want to hang with him peacefully quite yet. yes he is a tsundere which means he will get to that stage but he isn't there (yet).

in that panel you've shown, (and within the story all the way up to present time rn) he tian feelings is very one sided and like I said earlier this change of mo going from completely hating him to. mo doesn't consider himself friends with anyone, even telling jian yi who was trying to help him "who the chicken dick is your friend".. he trusts no one but especially he tian because of how their relationship started. mo doesn't hate he tian as he once used to but after the fight with she li, it still hasn't been enough to completely change his negative feelings surrounding him. he needs to see more of he tian more comforting and caring side before doing so. also even since that panel.. plenty more chapters of them have come right after and mo is still not very trustful of him and doesn't want to hang with him. no vast changes have happened. they still bicker but we haven't seen a lot of change from mo. he tian clearly and obv doesn't dislike mo as he once used to from the beginning when they met but it's quite obvious that it can't be said the same for mo.

and as said earlier zheng xi and jian yi have done more/changed more (bigger difference) since the beginning. I have kept the amount of chapters in mind, he tian and mo are not faster.. they haven't done much. also it's good to note that zheng xi and jian yi don't need to become friends (like mo and he tian will have to) simply because they already are.. so of course there is not going to be a chapter where they already reach "that point" as you say he tian and mo have (tho again). again they have different relationships. both have progress but I don't think that the side couple are faster. not that speed matters much esp when they're both slow burn. anyways the true point I think the other person was trying to address is that to say none of them have development is ridiculous (specifically the main couple in this case).

but as you said, we can agree to disagree. glad we were able to have a discussion civilly.

sorry to join when this discussion seems over but I did want to add one more point to this person. saying he and mo are quicker because they have less chapters, this would only really be a valid point is they have done more or at least just as much as the main couple have - and they haven't. they are slower but that's not a bad thing ... they need more stages to go through than the other couple. different relationships, both great (not that either of you were saying any of them were bad but just in case some may feel offended in some way). ヾ(☆▽☆)
