Imo ORV is better than solo leveling, because it actually shows kim dokja depending on his teammate and everything that involves their world(constellations, historical artifacts), and how he's thinking of plans while basing all of this from the novel he read. While sung jinwoo fights with his shadows instead of making connections/relationships with his fellow hunters.
The one thing that makes ORV great is he's not the stereotypical weak mc who became op all of a sudden then loses his emotions. The author is really great at taking their time with showing their progress and somehow still builds tension to scenes with no action and includes history of the country they're at. And also the romance is almost not there which i really like.
The thing with solo leveling is sung jinwoo became powerful super fast but maybe slowing down would have been much better, with the way it is now with the current chapters it feels like a game you play where you leveled up your characters too fast so now they can defeat every enemy easily and have speedran every aspect of the game and now it's become boring. Then the excitement comes every update of the game, or in solo levelings case new op enemies are introduced. I hope when they do introduce said enemies, they would make sung jinwoo have a hard time.
But nonetheless, both stories have different plots and i just like the other one better than the other, and everyone have different taste buds, and for me solo leveling is losing its flavor that it had before.
So hardcore solo leveling fans out there or anyone, feel free to teach me anything more about solo leveling that can somehow make me feel excited for future updates.
And im not very good in putting my opinions and thoughts into words so please dont judge me too harshly. And i hope you understood what i meant.
I will continue to read both stories so to any fans out there please dont tell me "stop reading then dumbass" since its only my opinion/thought
AND PLEASE educate me if you want to, im open to anything as long as they're within my boundaries.

I agree with you
There's just so much character connection in ORV and I like how his companions have there own strengths that he can rely on~~~ the female characters are also strong and not just some wall paper with a one dimensional personality and the characterization depth of a freaking kiddy pool with mostly pee in it while only convenient for the mc to look even more strong
The fact that he also relies on their strength and acknowledge his own weakness makes you look forward to everyone's character growth
Overall! I just loved this so much the characters, the flow of the story, and all the elements I could think of~

I also love solo leveling butttt~~~ I stopped reading a few months ago~~ cuz like I lost all of that fire of excitement in the story though will continue but for some time maybe?

Agreed, I just finished reading Solo Leveling and honestly it feels like im watching SAO, in the early chapters it was a really fun read but as you go on it becomes boring with each chapter since you know Sung will always win and the dude never gives a reaction other than being badass. While the plot is definitely fun and engaging the characters are lacking. Honestly the summons have more personality than Sung lol
Solo Leveling is awesome and totally a fun read but ORV is definitely superior IMO

Yes trash of the count's family is also good although it's a reincarnation genre it's not focused on a female mc but a male so it's like a breathe of fresh air for me. And also Cale is very smart, im not saying the female leads of other stories are not but he just thinks different. He bases his plans mostly on his survival and of course to help avoid future disasters and he still minds to stay true to the "real" cale's personality but his acts are very contradictory. And the way everyone just accepts this is so funny to me.
Sorry just wanted to let that out.

this opinion is getting more popular since orv just start to make name now... its not even weird how people know sl more than orv since sl started few years before orv. but yeah ive read both novel and obviously im side with orv... it so different than other korean action novel... like the character and relationship and the plot... its so unique.
Just for a record sl got around 200+ chapters if im not mistaken while orv got 551 chapters and honestly i finished all orv chapters and still want more while sl got a bit boring for me towards the end... like sl ending for me like " ok whatever the plot get kinda woozy and weird for a bit but sure" and still cant finish the extra chapter... i just hope orv get the love and praise they deserve. its gonna be my most favourite novel of all time

For me, I can't really compare the two. They may share a couple of similarities but how they present their stories are vastly different from one another. ORV has more in common with trash of the count's family than it does with SL. SL being a second life type comic is pretty much pure action with a badass MC which, from what I've seen of that genre, is par for the course for those types of comics. Different strokes for different folks as they say.
Honestly, it's really hard to make a recommendation for a second life comic because they usually quickly go the solo leveling route but I did find one second life comic that you may be interested in called infinite leveling Murim on webtoon. It's the typical final battle where he dies and then comes back but he comes back in his child body so even though he has the memories of his past life, his body does not so he's not the instant badass. So far, I'm really enjoying it

Yeah I was fan of solo leveling fight scenes, hot op MC fucking awesome but it is just that.We don't "feel" characters and cough I'm gonna get hate but I don't like blonde FL I dropped when she becomes a "FL". But ORV is relatable. You can look at characters and say "damn fucking feelings". Can not even compare the plot with solo leveling, it's god's made. I always had characters I hated in every manga/webtoon but ORV is breaking the rules. I don't think it is unpopular opinion solo leveling started good but can not keep the readers it has become too repeatable (or it is just me). But damn OVR is the only light novel I read (didn't finish but fuck it my brain can not remember names except kimdokja and YJH so I always stop and reread) and it is a fucking masterpiece. And I love my ugly not ugly baby boi. And the feelings that it gave me is special so OVR is always gonna be my favorite I can say that.

i dont like the fl too... it really does come so suddenly and in my opinion the healer girl is the better option for fl honestly... atleast she is there since hes nobody but by the end the fl whose suppose to be s rank become kinda like useless?... its really just the rule that hot mc need pretty woman...

me too... i dont like the fl too... honestly i dont like having fl in action story but for sl i prefer the healer girl more since shes there from the start when hes nobody... for me that kinda make sense for him to have a feeling since shes super caring about him but we instead got the supposedly s rank girl that only become useless... its kinda the rule that every op mc need woman even tho its totally unnecessary
Lmao this isnt as fun to read as the earlier chapters lol, but imma still read it anyway just to waste time
