Peep’s personality becoming more timid after being human is a bit of turn off for me. I can kinda understand it but it’s too drastically different. Plus Im not really all for the huge age gap thing.
I really just can’t with this story. I’ve been trying to stick with the story but it’s all over the place. The miscommunication is so damn annoying manipulation or not. Ive been trying to come back and read the updates but everytime theres an update I dread coming to read it.
Can we talk about how this whole dead king situation just flew right past and shit? It literally felt like a side story or something. That was so incredibly rushed I have whiplash. And then chapter 128 the new translation team hits and it’s just not good. Wtf just happened???? I’m so not happy with this
I know right, but in the novel, this scene was actually more elaborate.
Now just hear me out. I feel as though this event adds complexity and humanity to his character. Almost all humans are capable of change. It makes sense that the recent events caused him to rethink how he was going about things and apologize for his actions. He wasn’t trying to guilt trip him by telling him their own experience with being less influential people, he was trying to share his experience and why he chose what he chose so that his son could keep that detail in mind and make an informed decision. His father is changing and growing, and the world isn’t black and white. Yes he committed wrongs but he’s working on making up for it and changing. Experiencing an entire shift in how you once functioned and thought is difficult and takes time and patience from those around you. And I like how the author implemented this to make him a more in depth and human character.
I am actually going to foam at the mouth with how impatient I am to know what is happening. I stg this is the perfect way to show us how anxiety inducing and worrying it is to watch Maxi go through this. I’m so so grateful she’s getting her chance to grow into her own skills and individuality. She’s made friends too!

In the last few chapters the translations suddenly went downhill a bit. And for the amount of chapters that this manga has with such good translation I gotta say I’m a bit scared and annoyed. Imma be pissed off if I start having difficulty reading this manga bc some translation group decides google translate is a better alternative. Bad translation will literally ruin a manga. I’m poor and can’t pay for official translations so like imma fight someone (╬￣皿￣)凸
I understand that Annette has been hurt beyond measure, but for the people to wish her happiness or a redemption arc on top of everything she’s done is ignorant. She chose to follow a man who had a very obvious pattern, even though she was dissuaded by her family. Yes she was young and yes she is pitiful, but I do not feel bad for her. She cruelly murdered countless people who didn’t deserve it. She has no regard for human life. She is a twisted person who deserves no sympathy and no way out. It’s like Theore said, so what if they aren’t a bad person, they still did bad things so why treat them like they didn’t do those things when they did. Except it’s simpler because Annette is a bad person. Yes she is pitiful, and yes her pain is sad and she didn’t deserve it, but that is no excuse for the horrible person she has become. She has done too much with absolutely no remorse for her own selfish goals to ever be forgiven. It’s not her descendants that have done these things, but her. I’m sorry for those whose heart strings have been pulled by her past but it does not change what she’s done and who she is now. That is how beautifully written this villain is.
I completely agree with this. It was her choice to go with the emperor and follow his whims. Blaming and punishing the descendants when they didn't do anything to hurt her is like blaming a child for their parents' crimes. It's unfair and illogical.
It's also curious that the First Emperor from his Aide's diary is heartbroken when he learned that Annette escaped from prison. And it's also curious that he genuinely did love her but just one day he was compelled to wipe the entire witches from the world. He didn't even have any qualms against witches in the first place. Like the god they serve actually manipulated him to do that.
If you ask me, I would blame this god of theirs. They're unfair to the witches that were luckily chosen by magic and I would blame the First Emperor for doing the things he did. Annette's actions are understandable for the pain she suffered in the past but that does not also justify what she did ever since she woke up.
She shouldn't take her anger out on completely innocent people and focus on getting revenge on the god instead. She makes it seem like it wasn't her fault when it was her choice that led to their doom.
True like the stuff she went through is a very strong reason for ger actions but its not an excuse. She went through VERY rough shit, the first emperor was a POS. But does that justifies what she has done? ABSOLUTELY NOT!
There’s no way this manga that had such potential had such a poorly put together rushed asf ending. That was so beyond disappointing. None of this made sense. I just wasted two hours when I had so much hope. My disappointment is immeasurable
Seeing the lack of understanding of so many people on how truly good this story is in various aspects is quite frustrating. It’s beautifully written and fleshed out and the trauma responses is extremely accurate: yes it’s disturbing and it makes you sad and uncomfortable and grossed out, but that’s truly how you know it’s a good story bc that’s what it’s going for. They aren’t trying to push a romance possibility with her brother, they’re showing a traumatic assault. It’s a love story, so obviously it will share aspects with other love stories. Seriously how much more original can we get here like, every romance will have similar aspects, it’s a genre for gosh sake. The story of her eating disorder (which is Bulemia btw) and the minute details like the scar on her hand and the fact that the frequency of symptoms waxes and wanes. Amazing. Genuinely this story is beautiful. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but anyone with a lick of digital literacy will know that this is an amazing story.
