Anyways I think MC is being kinda reasonable here, like you found out your fuck buddy has actually been inlove with you for years and you just found about that, but you barely know him since the time you spent together were only being fuck buddies. ML is a unique dude, as all people said, he is like a mirror that reflects whatever you want for you to see, since MC barely knows the guy, and all the information that was given to him by others who knows the ML, it's natural for MC to think that ML is only reflecting what he wants to have, He doesn't fully know MC, ML' acting is. So good that even MC thought he watched a doppelganger instead. ML is an actor and his job is to act for his own benefit, everyone has a different interaction with ML so MC doesn't truly know if whether ML is genuine or just a reflection given to him. So tbh after making sense of it all I can't say this is bad writing imo, just a little rushed out with the plot and scenes imo
