I just reread some chapters before the backstory, I just realized how much of a groomer cardinal "Brixton" is like he fr found him when Brian was still young and tended him so that he wouldn't leave by his side. Good thing Brian only sees him as like a father figure, but like the way Brixton acts and how he liked 'physically' comforts Brian at chapter 33
You means Ian. Brian is the past life. Brian loved Sol and probably only considered Brixton as a friend. When Brian died, he's determined to find him and met him before Sol. But Ian still loves Sol, not him.

judging by how the author has treated most of the women in this manga, it’s just for objectification and sexualisation reasons i think. nothing incestorous, just the author adding some weird ass scenes
