I think from what I remember ergi has a vendetta against mistresses (due to personal reasons) , and a grudge towards sovishit. the only reason why heinley was friends with him (you know, enemy's enemy are friends).But ml doesn't like him that much. You have to think in the years where the story takes place, some where even friends because they didn't like their husband. And yes, in the beginning she was just a slave, and that shit sovieshu even told her it was ok because he wasn't really "married ", they were friends, and makes sense she believes it, because she's just a slave and she got to see the nobles that didn't care about marriage, they had affairs on the side with the husbands knowledge, bc all marriages where decided by the family.
But yeah, obviously sovieshu is the reason for fucking everything. He makes the worst choices all the time...
If it was because he said they are best friends, I'd believe it too. But if he believed that he's the father of rastha's baby, they have to be sleeping together for a while. That's not very best friend of them. I do pity her for the life she lived before meeting sovishit, but she was an awful woman after she got greedy.
