I remember not liking the ending of this in the novel. Maybe i just expected a lot. There were a few phrases that came out of Semes's mouth that weren't really addressed throughout the story. He is too mysterious that even I as a reader cant see through him lol.
also mainly because danny didn't even appear
Not really sad. I read it again last night. They made up real is fast probably 1 chapter only ..that it wasn't satisfying? for me at least.
The Seme is too nonchalant to understand— even readers dont know what he's thinking. He barely gives reaction just like in this manhwa. I thought it was just me but when i looked in the comments were the same. I was expecting he would clear it up going forward. Or maybe it was just the translation thats confusing.
Long story short
Dohyun is an orphan and The one who took him out of the orphanage was Wooyeon’s mother. She put him in a family, That did not really care much about him, He just needed to be the good son But eventually, he got to leave better life than in the orphanage. So in her eyes he owes her for saving him…
Dohyun teaching him was arranged she knew Dohyun personally and asked him about Wooyeon and how he is doing, eventually, she realized Wooyeon likes Dohyun and so did Dohyun realize that’s why he decided to enlist to the military and cut ties with him.
In the beginning here Dohyun really doesn’t know it’s Wooyeon but he catches it pretty fast, around the time he realizes Wooyeon’s mother tells him to take care of Wooyeon.
In the beginning, that’s why he’s so nice to him and takes care of him, But eventually, especially in the chapters were in he falls in love too, But he doesn’t really have a choice, He can’t date him without her permission basically. So this thing is going on until they’re even together he doesn’t tell Wooyeon anything about himself and the connection he has to her.
It’s really sad because in the end of the day Wooyeon is all by himself and His lover, and also his best friend, were part of his life because his mother arranged it, which is insane.
She is manipulative and both of them are suffering from the consequences
I didn't read the spoilers. But i just wanted to ask. When was this tho? When did her mother asked Dohyun to spy on Wooyeon? Is it long before he came to campus or.. during? Cause if its before then was Dohyun lying when he didn't recognize Wooyeon at first— you know him saying it was because he there were hints, like his number etc
or was he expecting him to come to campus because Wooyeon's mom told him. but then that would mean he knows him immediately... but that would also mean he lied.
Okayyyy I’m currently rereading and I’m at least happy he didn’t spy on him. She just created a bigger misunderstanding so wooyeon will go back home. I hate her so muchhhhhhhhhh
Even though still Dohyun lied to him but I understand why he couldn’t tell him, and she didn’t only steal his chance to say it, she made him look worse
Separate from the drama in his love life, doesn’t wooyeon find out he’s an illegitimate child or something? His mother had an affair with a guy high up the chain that’s his father and somehow the news gets involved and he’s harassed constantly that dohyou has to “save” him or hide him in his home from the media… I just remember the novel going down a messy path for wooyeon :-(
He is a coward. He should tell her than avoiding her like that. If he is so hung up on them wanting to stay friends boi he is ruining it its so awkward they cant even stay friends anymore.
Kinda get why he didn't want to be in a relationship with her. My friends are still friends because they also chose to not be together, boi those college days were awkward.
I don’t think it was him wanting to stay friends. It was that threat from the other girl during their drinking party, because of the scar on haneul’s wrist. Blaming on the ML and questioning if he actually had the right to date haneul after that incident that we still didn’t know yet. But i do agree that he’s a coward, so I hope we’d know the backstory on haneul’s scar on her wrist.

What is their age gap again? They're at what age back then vs now in college?
about 4-5? Not sure
i think it's a 4 year age gap...so they're 20 & 24 rn, back then they were 14 & 18?
He might have started getting tutored at 14, but Wooyeon mentioned that in the beginning it was 4 years ago that he confessed. I.e. 16 and 20 in Korean age (which is what is referenced the most) but 14 and 18 international age ig
Read the novel here! It’s a 4 year age difference. In college Wooyeon is 18 and Dohyun is 22 (I’m talking about legal age not Korean age). Then in the past Wooyeon was 14 (in middle school) while Dohyun was 18 in college (fresman)
