No, they're not together. Shingo confessed his feelings to Arata because I think he realized that if Shige really liked Arata that way (something the girls said) then there's a bigger chance that Arata will reciprocate his feelings because both of them are really close, so he went and confessed first lol (￣∇￣")
But, I really want Shige and Arata to end up together. They're really cute together. Shige spoils Arata lots and Arata actually likes Shige more than he knows. See at the end of chapter 5, just the thought of Shige liking someone bugged him so much that its hard to sleep. Quite surprising even for him because he's always been the type of person who sleeps for a living.
In my un-solicited opinion that will probably anger lots of people here.
When we are talking about yaoi--and not in real world, okay, let us be clear about that.
There is a difference between what you think is rape and what we see in yaoi where the uke says no to the seme.
It's like how the women like a little force or what you call a rape-play whenever we have sex. Me in particular, I know rape when I see one. In yaoi world, there is a difference in those and the one thing I think where you can determine it is how the author portrayed the feeling of both parties.
Does that make sense?

One of the things is that a lot of people don't take the cultural aspects into consideration. In Japan, people ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ENJOY SEX. It's still shameful and embarrassing. The vast majority of the "rape" in these stories is the seme getting the uke past the point of embarrassment (most of the time) to the point of being able to enjoy the sex.
If you pay attention, there is a distinct difference between this and the full-on *rape* in these stories. There's a difference in the uke's reactions, in facial expressions (of everyone), of what is actually said in dialog, etc. It's *not* the same at all.
I'm not sure if people don't KNOW this or just don't want to consider it? *shrugs*
