Yeah it's pretty crazy I can only try to help explain it from what I understood from the spoilers.
The book MC read was MCs first life. He lived through it all and went through those hardships.
As a sort of coping mechanism, MC created a world in his head, where omegaverse didn't exist (since it caused him so much pain) and went back to a time when he was the happiest. (Younger him before trauma) where he could live his life with his friend (ML).
At some point (ML) managed to enter his dream like world?? And he was like oh shit I've done a bad bad, I wish I could do things differently.
And then bam. Second chance.
Now both know their 1st life, but the MC still thinks it's all a book. ML knows it's reality and is changing how he acts and what he does.
(Tbh idk how i feel about the ML, he says something about changing AND THEN SAYS SOMETHING BAD AGAIN. Like the "sorry i brought u back to me, but can never leave me" ???? Like sir, I don't think u learned anything )

The non-omegaverse is MC's drawing book. It's fake and the Novel <silence> is his previous life
