It's not just you. The author is obviously shrouding the whole manga in mystery. The issue is, the majority of this work hasn't followed the same vibe, so it's coming off as extremely abrupt, out of place, and confusing. She may hit us all with a great plot twist and interesting story...or we may just continue this whole thing confused as fuck. Who knows :)
