Theres no actual romance in ORV, there is some weird thing with Kim Dokja and black chinese dresses with a garter belts but no real romantic envolvement. Kim Dokja doesn't actually like Jonghyuk and vice versa, they just have a bromance going on which has caused the (primarily female side) fandom to ship them hard
I'm aware that there's no actual romance but i thought Jonghyuk was more important ylto story when he just appeared few times while the side characters have sm ore screen time

I think the reason the ship of these two was so hard was more so because of the last arc of the novel. I honestly was on the edge of my seat during that because of how hard the one worked because he wanted the other to return. <_< my spoilage without an idea on what, who, or why >:3 Well unless you've read the novel xD

Tbh I feel like KDJ is bi and while there are some... Questionable parts... In the novel regarding their friendship (He might be in love with JYH but it's platonic.) He's like a brother, father and a friend to KJD as well as a partner. Like everyone who knows YJH say he looks happy when he's with KDJ however that doesn't say he's in love with him *snorts anyway the plot is quite complex I agree but it's the best novel I've read. ╥﹏╥

I wouldn't say there's no romance in orv or between kdj and yjh, the majority of the fandom specifically ships them hard because their feelings towards each other goes beyond any romance, maybe camaraderie? Platonic soulmates? Sure. Its a very attractive relationship that they have, and it keeps getting more meaningful and saddening. Their relationship honestly gives a lot of room for interpretation, that's why its fun to think that by somehow, just a tiny bit, we could hope that something more familiar would happen between them (fanfics exist for a reason).
Im not sure for others but I would accept whatever relationship they have, I just want them to be happy in each other's presence with peace (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
They actually do like each other (not saying romantically tho they do got craaaazy chemistry together)

The story could have sm potential looking at the beautiful characters designs but on the other hand none of them do anything with any convincing reasons, ok maybe just the Mc i get that he doesn't mind abuse because that all he knew since childhood and has so strong abused mindset and attachment issues and all and it could've been realistic if he behaved like that only with the 1ml( the one he supposedly in love with) but he doesn't mind the second ml either "it feels good, i like it" i literally threw my phone .. .. ..... The crazy love interest share him around which is the most thing i hated i would've appreciated him more if he was the niche " don't touch my man i kill you " crazy possessive kind of guy but he's all crazy for nothing ( he was literally like you go first it's stiff) bro never heard of lube......and the 2ml is what? He’s not a wannabe he’s genuinely batshit crazy I’m not joking. All the edits I’ve seen of this story I’ve made me cringe too but when I read it it makes me insanely uncomfortable because of how well-written the power dynamic and dependency are.
