So much has happened, it’s easy to forget. Here’s a more detailed summary of what went down that lead up to this- - one of the many scripts Jay made Yoohan (Taemin) read had a part for someone who “trembled in front of a camera”. Yoohan realized it was perfect for Hansoo, so he stole the script and gave it to his manager for Hansoo, who was going to quit acting because he couldn’t get over his nervousness of being in front of a camera. When Yoohan confessed to Jay about taking the script, Yoohan was surprised Jay seemed to be happy about it and guessed it was for Hansoo. He said something like, “you don’t realize it, but you did a great thing.”
Yoohan’s manager took both Yoohan and Hansoo to audition for that part. As expected, Hansoo ended up getting the part and Yoohan gave a not-so-great audition. However, the director liked Yoohan’s face and thought his “dry” acting was perfect for a very small part with only a couple of lines. The manager made sure both actors were always around the sets during filming, so if something in the script needed to be added or changed, there would be a good chance their parts might be expanded because they happened to be right there, which did happen to Yoohan. The director had been expanding his part little by little, then Yoohan gave that amazing performance for the suicide scene. Now the character he’s playing will be expanded further (which is why they want to push his schedule back) which gives him a more significant part in the movie - about equal to Hansoo‘s part now
