People who aren’t taking the story seriously like it was intended, would care. If you think about it, the relationship was already ruined. Both the son and alpha ruined their relationship by cheating and you can tell by the time each found out, neither actually cares enough about each other to seriously be mad. The feelings were gone for a while.
By ruining the relationship, the relationship would’ve had to be good and happy and the beta finding out, thus making the relationship broken. But the beta was chilling until the very end.
