I get how people hate this truly i do. As a victim of something to what the ML went through (of course never went and killed someone) it really messes with your head. Your idea of self, concept of love skewed from people who are supposed to help nurture you, all of it really does turn you into a completely different person. It reminds me of Niichan by Harada where they're shit people but you see how later in their life no matter how old they get how it still affects you. Its a ugly but sad thing that happens to many people. I was actually triggered but tbh I preferred how explicit it is cuz it shows how something that starts off so abnormal can become something you normalize and seek out or become used to when pretty words and words of affirmation are peppered in. I think it truly would have been shit had author let him live his life with no repercussions. But truly karma came for him as well as him coming to the conclusion himself how wrong he is and needs to repent for his actions. As for the dad I would've wanted him to suffer but that also is reality these perpetrators get away with it but its quite obvious it eats away at him mentally they only way he can say he's innocent is to push the blame on his son for his actions denying he was the catalyst. So I know it left a bad taste in people's mouth but it really is like that sometimes.
yes man it’s sad. in the end, the true perpetrator to all the madness that happened is left alone & in the end never truly ever faces the punishment they deserve. ml went through so much at up til at the age of middle/high school where he did that to the kid. it’s sad and overall a bitter feeling. i’m glad he turned himself in & atoned. the fact he got released was crazy i don’t fault the mom of the og child to do the stabbing herself since to her it wouldve just him not receiving the punishment he should’ve gotten.
ml’s parenrs anger me the most truly in this situation especially the mom in how she was a bystander through the whole thing. we don’t know her story, never will, but it doesn’t change what she ended up doing to her own son staying with such a man just as what ml did to a child & to mc as well.
mc is strong person truly, though to say if him forgiving the ml was the right choice or if he really deserved it but i hope even in the aftermath the mc doesn’t kill himself & keeps living.
Yes! Forgot to touch on the topic of the ma but Im glad the mc kinda picked up on that the ma must have had an idea and either knew and ignored it or was so absent and oblivious that she didnt notice anything. I personally think it alludes to her kinda of knowing but not wanting to step in cuz even in the flashback some of her comments felt kind of iffy and the lack of insistence of wanting to join a Pic with them kinda gave me a weird vibe. Not sure if yk it but reminds me of the short film "The Strange Things About The Johnsons"
yesss omfg who doesn’t know that film but def i feel like it’s the former. she definitely knew or at least had an idea of what was happening. she didn’t seem to have any full time job outside beinf a home maker and it seemed like the ml’s dad had all the job things w/ him wearing a suit and carrying a sort of briefcase when he met that one kid at church & separating paths from him before ml yk.
yep yep the picture session and then her not going on a trip where it was just the two of them. the lack of insistence there as well. probably even during that photoshoot time she had a feeling as to what was going on & didn’t do anything about it.
then her standing outside the extra house when ml and mc came back & she most likely overheard everything along w her flinching when she heard mc’s name being called by ml.
it’s like what you said how as an individual the self, concept of themselves, perspective & view of that love to where it later affects how they give that love to other people it ruins a person, rheir future, and development especially by the people who are supposed to nurture and care for them the most they’re taken advantage of and violated.

Im queen and I still am annoyed by MC decision but thats just how I feel about queer relationships irl and fiction I get it y mc and ppl feel this way but honestly I've been there and it hurts so much to be the dl partner. Cuz then u get situations where u lie and spin it into something it isn't if I was ML I would be hurt and then he forces some story that im dating some girl my feelings would be hurt and stressful trying to keep up YOUR lie. I think thats my biggest gripe it'd be 1 think to keep it hidden but to fabricate a story is another he already said he's gay he could have just said he's seeing a guy and that's it
no yeah as having been the dl partner before it def sucks even if u think that ur okay being the dl partner or u keep telling urself that it's okay with u even tho deep down u aren't. but I totally get why mc is acting that way, it sucks for ml having to lie to the ppl he's close to (even tho his friends would prob be okay w it considering how they reacted when he came out to them) but still this is mc's first relationship and being gay in Korea has a lot more social consequences that people unfortunately have to consider, especially considering how they are both public figures as star athletes. all I'm hoping for in the story is that mc is able to heal from his own internalized homophobia and get comfortable and feel safe enough in his relationship w ml that he is able to be proud and open about his relationship w ml

I hate hate hate hate hate hate when mcs come to the conclusion that lying to the LI is the best course of action and immediately forget or try to do some action or conversation that clearly crosses the line THEY SET. I find it more cruel than just ghosting them cuz it gives such false hope like stick to ur guns and walk out or minimize closeness
I actually really enjoyed it and it took a different turn than usual. I love that the first love is kinda haunting the both of them as a person uke could never be and the person ml can never move on from. And instead of these grand things it was the calmness and peace uke game ml that it made him realize that he is falling for uke but also even if he does have feeling for someone who's passed he never really got closure more like he was stuck in time. I do think it was iffy how uke blackmail him at first but honestly he probs thought he would do it with him that day and never see him again since he was at his wits end it was a hail mary. I think with more chaps and time shown in the manga it wouldnt feel as rushed ( as somw are saying) and we could see the spark( even tho it's there)
