Yes, in this case there was a punishment that benefitted the main couple, but is it a good example of royalty to do things like that? Again, in this case things work out because he was also powerful and all of that, so they basically joined kingdoms so to speak, but the trope itself always makes me mad, i remember king's maker and all the hoops they went trough to make being together work and not fuck everything up and i appreciate that.

I really like the isekai trope, i really like the enemies to lovers trope, the same goes for fl who overcomes a bad situation/change her future, and this story wanted to be all of those thigs SO BAD that forgot to have a plot.
In the beginning things kinda made sense, we had a clumsy, generic main couple, our fl was a little bland, but nothing terrible, nothing out of the ordinary. Was this going to be my favorite? No, but i would have my fun.
But then, out of ABSOLUTELLY NOWHERE it became a completely different story.
Besides the weak original plot, with the evil-for-no-reason mil, the crazy maids, him not moving a muscle to protect her even though he was aware of her standing in the house (because even the worms in the garden where), somehow this became a fighting for power, next emperor is crazy omg, type of thing.

Why ? Why keep saying that the villain was adopted if was not important to the plot? Why was fl "sterile" if it didn't change anything? What happened to the siblings? Why did the mil was such a bitch for no apparent reason? Who was the crazy dumbass that hired a man with bad blood with the family to be a physician? Why the butler, who knew everything, didn't think "well this is kinda weird, this is strange, my boy duke was not dying until this man who hates this family came here"??????????
But what hurts me is that the author KNEW the story where badly told, in the end they explained that is hard to translate novels in comics, witch i agree, i couldn't do it, but i NEVER EVER before read that in a final chapter.
If even the author have to say that the story may be lacking plot points or be a little confusing and that the reader should read the original product too for better understanding, the how can i not agree that this was rushed, confusing and overall bad?
TLDR: Too much ideas, too little time developing them. The initial idea was ok, black cat husband and puppy wife nursing him, but it was just too much, too fast, with too little explanation or background, not to mention the personality changes of the main couple and the giant plot holes (WHERE ARE THE SIBLINGS? didn't this whole thing happened because of them?, i'm i crazy?)

I think this had a lot of potential but kinda missed the spot.
Look i like the poor-girl-meets-the-prince trope just as much as the next girl but this time she was just so bland, so goody two shoes for no reason, i just couldn't care about her.
The relationship was rushed, the end was rushed, it feels like half the plot was cut. They went out to tour the kingdom and saw two places and that was it? The brother was causing trouble all around but it was a *gasp* moment when ml said he was the one that put the bounty on her?
I don't know, i'm sure i forgot more things that didn't quite click for me, but in the end the problem is: the main couple is too bland, you could describe them with a word each, she is kind he is princely and that's it, the plot forgot to exist around the middle, jumping all around, things happening with absolutely no foreshadowing or so much so that it was obvious.
Again, a lot of potential, could be great, fumbled the execution.
TLDR> I wish it was more like Hana and The Beastman an less like your run of the mill "too kind to exist, but being a doormat makes you attractive" type of plot.
