taeui gets kidnapped by jaeuis kidnapper after which he again leaves (albeit involuntarily) with xinlu after that and ilay gets batshit crazy going on a killing spree. its heavily implied how he loses his mind even in passion raga but thats pretty much it for his ‘suffering’ ig. ilay sort of went thru hell of a ton of trouble to get save taeui but xinlu swooped in, threatened taeui with his brother so taeuis sort of forced to go with him. this happens in front of ilay. this parts sort of heartbreaking in a way cos ilays all covered in dirt and he obviously didnt rest at all finding taeui but then he was wearing this ultra bright smile when he finally gets to see him. but then taeui leaves and ilay misunderstood he was leaving voluntarily (again) and chased the car (taeui and xinlus in it) broke the car window with his fist btw but then xinlu shoots at him and his motorcycle crashes.
in passion suite taeui gets his shoulder broken and leg shot during a mission offered by ilays friend and ilay once again gets cray cray (this is cute af ngl)

You know how Ilay said so himself that he hates ppl who tend to sacrifice their own lives for smth that isnt their concern to begin with, then he falls in love with tay who is literally a self sacrificing meow meow and also a magnet for trouble. Like it worries him to no end (but Ilay also trusts Tae’s strengths and treats him as his equal). Also, Ilay in passion keeps on thinking/saying he needs to kill tae but hes just bullshiting, hes just all talk, he cant even function properly without Taeui. Then in Suite (passion 3rd book) it’s revealed that Ilay’s greatest nightmare is losing taeui. He also said that living w/ tae is like hell on earth, but not in an unpleasant way and he would choose to live like that
I wouldnt say that their relationship will be smooth sailing from here yet bc a lot of things are about to happen (the calm before the storm) and ilay and tae will have a huge misunderstanding. But after passion, in Diaphonic symphonia and Suite Iltae is like the sweetest couple, i couldnt help but fall in love with them

omg I laughed out loud when you mentioned KDJ and oh how I love to also see Ilay beg and cry real tears for taeui. Though when u read the novel i feel like u couldnt imagine him ever crying, he’d just go into full blown insane, lose his mind and destroy everything (this is why he hired his old team the T&R task force to kill him if tae dies bc he knw he’d go crazy). I think the closest we can see Ilay losing his shit is when hes so desperate to save tae when he gets kidnap and during the car chasing scene with xinlu. Also when he genuinely begs tae not to betray him or leave him again bc he didnt want to hurt and kill him and ilay doesnt trust his own mind
Everytime I see the word self sacrificing, the voices in my head starts chanting kim dokja's name I can't not mention him.
I dread reading this but I also enjoy it. I usually don't like evil charcter but this manga is something else

Everyone in comments are so happy for the development and I'm still very annoyed. Idk why but to me taeui's feels felt so rushed, like ilay did bare minimum, like saying sorry (after literally assaulting him no less) and not touching an injured person ( which is a lot by ilay's standards I agree) and suddenly taeui is getting butterflies. Maybe it's because I read too much green flag manhwas while waiting for update.
