I don't think that's necessary, their relationship is healthy and as mentioned before Kamin is really mature.
kyle is extremely dependent in comparisment with Ray, but I don't blame him, he grew up in a loving family. But still, sometimes he is being all blushy just because Lucien is acting "nice" like... that dude just threatened to break your legs a few chapters ago. And then when he finally broke free he still is being "imprisoned" for his well-being ofcourse, but he doesn't make progress as a character at all because nobody is teaching him.
At this point, I just want Ray and Kyle progress as brothers instead of this relationship with a ship that doesn't know to sink or to sail
