You know, out of boredom I'd take away the FL, erase everyone's memories of her, get rid of all her traces on earth, have only Cedi remember her, turn back time to when he was a child, and see what would happen. Is he gonna go crazy, or is he going to find a way to try and reconnect to the FL and cage her again? I'd take away his magical powers too so he's as helpless as he can be. Make his growth(strength, agility, height etc.) stunted. Let's see what he can do when he's at the bottom of the bottoms.
