I feel like I've scene this plot in another manhwa before...she suffered so bad that it literally made everyone who read it cry and say the nastiest shit to the ML. She was so strong to be able to stand all of that for so long until she finally tried to kill herself in the bath but he wouldn't let even death have her. She was pretty much emotionless and lifeless for awhile. He became better after this incident but it was already too late. He thought she was getting better because she didn't reject him or anything anymore. She was just letting him exist. But eventually, while he was out buying something that he thought she would like, she tried to end her life again if she couldn't have a divorce. She hung herself and the ML came rushing in and kicking down the locked door.
This is "My Beloved Oppressor", I think.
Though the difference is the FL's father in MBO was a real piece of shit who treats soldiers and people as commodities. FL was oblivious to it all and got the burnt of the ML & people's ire because of how evil her father was.
But in this case, her father and brother seems to be genuinely good people and it's just "politics" where the higher ups want their family obliterated because they have too much positive influence.
Eitherway, so far tho I don't see any redeeming qualities or substance on the ML why he's a piece of shit towards the innocent FL. Heiner at least had his hard reasons (tho what he did to FL was still scummy), there was SO MUCH depth to their characters.
Let's see if this one lives up the the same level, but so far, it doesn't hold a candle aside from the gorgeous art.
