Kuzumi deserves someone much better than Rio but that's how it is with love. It's easy if we can choose who we love. I'm too much like Rio, at least 80%. Way too prideful and can't face our fears. Realistic and unrealistic at the same time. It's realistic because of unfairness of it all but unrealistic that they still managed to get a happy ending.

Yah, in my own head canon I have her end up with carsion and not the prince. I feel the author only included that he was posioned and that's why he hated her to make us feel bad but I personally don't because the poison thing is stupid that makes no sense

not really, his resentment for her is piled up from childhood. and more so fueled by ruth, the greenhaired father of the greenhaired dude. the poison just further increased his resentment into aggression. which is why when the revised present Prince became interested on who she is, his resentment faded and became love instead. if anything, Aristia's character building became chaotic just when things went smoothly. she was on the right track with giving up being an empress and had this firmness in her, but then makes half ass decisions to get away from the prince. and it's like the father doesnt exist anymore to help.
