Sadly this is very accurate portrayal of abuse victims that were victims early on. (Not all, but many.)
They simply do not have the mental capacity to see how wrong these things are because that normalcy was never established or entirely shattered, so they can not comprehend how fucked up their behavior is sometimes.
Unpleasant behavior for sure, but realistic in a sad way.
