I get what you’re saying. Even if he couldn’t do anything when he was injured, as the more adult (older, wiser) person in the situation, it was his job to get things under control and seek help for the person he’s been playing background guardian to all these years. HeeSeo may not be a minor, but he is still mentally childish and there were other ways he could have showed him the affection he was craving without giving in to continuously having sex with him. The problem is he keeps giving in to his tantrums instead of helping him work through his shit.
But also, that wouldn’t have led up to the infamous scene from the first chapter we’re all anxiously dying to get to. So there’s that.

i AM aware that mr.cha is being sexually abused. i just personally find it hard to sympathize/have respect for him as the older one in this situation. like not saying he deserves to get raped and all that but what the hell did he expect staying around someone like heeso and getting his hopes up for :/ i mean yeah i guess he did attempt to set boundaries but keeps failing just my opinion

Being someone who helps people in DA relationships I can’t co sign on that statement. A lot of times it’s not that simple to get out of. I just feel like, as a much older figure in HeeSeo’s life, he should have been firm from the beginning. He seems extremely aloof and so distracted trying to figure out what happened to HeeSeo’s mother, that he’s failing HeeSeo who is still here. Before HeeSeo got physical with him, he was being childish and playing little games for attention and “testing the waters” Even before that, he sent all that money and never followed up on if the kid was benefiting from it? He’s too passive and just lets things happen that shouldn’t.
Its a bit sus that you have more sympathy for a rapist than a victim, especially when you write abuser in quotation marks lol. Why do you have more sympathy for these people than their victims? They don't deserve not to be hated and they should get arrested
i don't think i ever said that i had more sympathy for rapists lol and whether or not they deserve to be hated on by other people is not my problem i just think being upset doesn't solve anything. i do think they should be behind bars though and i think you're interpreting my use of quotations incorrectly. and just because i have less sympathy for victims than the average person does not mean im like on team abuser. i have been in abusive relationships before so i'm just speaking from my own experiences and from the people around me. to me mr.cha is in a position where he can leave without much.. drawbacks so its difficult for me to i guess sympathize like i said earlier.

Glad you made your stance clear. I think Mr Cha is terrified Heeseo will kill himself if he leaves :( which is a big drawback! But everyone is free to have their own interprétation of the story and characters
Minor this minor that bruh…20 years old isn’t minor. He can drink now legally according to Korea standards. And the thing I hate with ppl victim blaming mindset is that they always throw age spectrum everytime…I saw this pattern with every age gap manhwa. If Taekyung is someone who’s like 15 or 14 I can understand it but damn read the story again. And even Cha Taekyung said that he doesn’t wanna be in a sexual relationship since the beginning.
