People are complaining about Courtney neglecting Richard and I find that bizarre. I guarantee you that half of the readers minimum are obsessed with villainess/historical romance manhwas and mangas one here as much as I am, so it makes me wonder, do you decide if you like characters based on if the main characters smile or frown around them???
Like it's such a common trope to make "the new crown princess" be a stupid irresponsible woman, who neglects her duties to indulge the crown prince. It's as common as publicly denouncing the mc at the ball. Yet here it bothers you?? She's doing everything she can to not be neglecting her role c'mon.
Also Richard is a grown man, he could communicate to a virgin noble woman that he's into anal. He can try to ask his wife to give him more attention.

I'm sho happy,,,
I've seen a lot of writing advice say that if a scene doesn't move the plot forward, it needs to be scrapped, but here's a direct proof of why I think it's false!
We need a moment to see how the characters get along, how they're at their happiest and what they do together. Without scenes like this, I'd think Izek has no sense of humor and he wouldn't be as charming! I'd think the family was only loving when they accidentally met, instead of actively pursuing spending time together! I'd think that Rubekia (RUBEKIAAAA!!!!!!!<333333) is still always in danger when left alone and outside, but now you can see her freely and happily moving about.
If you don't give reader the time to see how the characters are when they're not stressed or in danger, you'll never get to know them!

Stop. Stop!! STOOOOPPPPP!!! NO ONE WANTS THIS SIDE ROMANCE. NO ONE THINKS IT'S ANY GOOD. He hits women when he's annoyed with!! You can't come back from that
I know the author is trying to make it okay, by making the victim of the domestic violence support the relationship, but that's still weird!!! Tsumugi is being a bad friend by supporting her bff to get with an abuser!
That metaphor she pulled at the end makes sense on the surface, but it falls apart if you think about it. Tsumugi is fine with being stalked, so there isn't such a need to prevent a relationship there as is with the bff, who presumably isn't fine with being hit. And no matter what you say, no, even if they're perfect for each other or whatever, the best friend would obviously not like it if her stalker dated her friend. A wiser person might even think that they did that, to keep control of their ex.
Idkkkkk it's just dumb. At least it's just the side chapters. I can pretend this is Tsumugi's nightmare and everytime she wakes up and thinks "Oh thank God I'm not a pushover who let's my friend date the guy who beat me"

He's obviously kind of cruel and cold, but what I'm wondering about is why it works for me here, when I dropped other stories for similar things?
I genuinely like both of the characters and find their dynamic really interesting. On the surface, nerd uke x mean popular seme in a highschool setting is the most generic shit ever, yet even though I read it years ago, the story still stuck in my head! I read so much shit on here, forget half of it even if the story is finished or updates every week, yet this one! This one stuck precisely! What's the secret ingredient that makes this so good?!!!??
Maybe it's how the author captured the inner thoughts of the mc? He didn't just have a crush, he had that pining love that he didn't ever even think to fullfil. It makes you kind of relate to the seme, because it IS fun to watch him struggle with those feelings. That's why people read angst and whump. And while he is a bit cold, it doesn't feel like it comes from disliking or being angry with mc, more out of curiosity of how he'll act. Idk but this is really fun

I said before that I don't think an actual romance with the mc could ever happen, as this is a comedy based on a running joke, so any romantic development would change the genre, but.....the genre is actually changing??? Like there are still comedy chapters, but there's more focus on an ongoing plot so, maybe the believers will win this one idk
The art style is so magical, like opening a fairytale book when you're a little kid
