I really like the story, but it's so awkward. It's like the author is keeping a tragedy checklist and stuffing it into the story once a previous tragedy is no longer interesting. Let me remind you, we're on 21st chapter and so far Stefan has been beaten as a child, neglected as a child, kicked out, been stabbed, got called a slur by his best friend's family/crush, poured drink on, been punched, hit by car and to top it all off had to drag the driver who hit him to the hospital. Oh right! He got molested too.
Is it even surprising that he has this weird mental process that makes him think he's not needed anymore? I'd be a little fucked up if all of that happened to me. If you binge this it stops being sad and starts being comedic. Like of course he got hit by a car!! Why wouldn't he?? Wonder what the author will pull out next.
Ps: Unpopular opinion, but I can't stand Randy. Let's not forget the whole "I liked you since i first saw you" thing was only said in Randy's head. The dude tells you his last breakup was because it got too serious and you pull out "I want to live together! :3" My guy, you haven't been on good terms together for even a week, what the fuck are you talking about?? And i haven't heard him say: "btw! Thanks for paying my sisters tuition! You know, that thing people go 20 years into debt for!"

Loved the message and all that, it's not problematic at all, but Christ on a stick is the line "He changed just the way I hoped :)" icky. Like you could've worded that better my dude.

I think it's probably more like he means that what he hoped for happened.
As in, he hoped that his crush would change his misconception about love and understand it properly; and he did change like this; so tatsumi says that what he hoped for happened (aka. The change he wanted did happen).
The wording of this phrase sure does sound a bit disturbing and manipulative; but in tatsumi's case, he is by no means manipulative and he is actually very respectful. So in conclusion, I'm willing to understand the best case of this phrase because I love this darling so much hehee

Wow, an mc that is a genuine good person with a sensible moral code who isn't pathetic and/or annoying, but still has clear weakness?
And a male lead who's an asshole, doesn't make an exception to the mc in his asshole-ry, isn't apologetic about and there's no way that his assholery is being misunderstood?? AND he's likeable and fun to read about???
What is this??? A good piece of fiction???? Remarkable.
Gee oh wow, I wonder if that only blue haired girl in the kingdom has something to do with that only blue haired boy in the kingdom/jkjk
