IM SO CONFUSED LIKE IT'S SO OBVIOUS HE'S NOT INHERENTLY EVIL? HE WASN'T BORN EVIL? I think he did start off as just a mountain god. The mountain god folk is popular in Japan and they have shinto and shrines for many different gods. A popular story like Noragami dwells on it but anyway. The people sacrificing heads and doing stuff influenced him and his nature essentially. He became more powerful with more offerings and more stuff happening. It's not like he was born specifically to kill humans.
You need to stop justifying "hikaru's" actions lol I don't think he has empathy. he's like a wild animal, I don't think he can control himself. He attacked two of his friends, that old lady, and then he attacked a child. He's dangerous to keep around.
no one is justifying anything + its a fictional manga. he is inherently evil in the perspective of human morality. he lacks understanding of that moral depth and acts on instinct of his original self. hopefully his character continues to grow, but the author wants to give the feeling of an in-human person adjusting in a human world.
omf i did not mean to dislike ur comment but i totally agree with you though, "hikaru" is still learning and doesn't have the morals to understand basic decency. his role was to take over hikaru's body and fulfill the last moments of the original owner.
