A lot of authors/artists pander to their target audience's tastes. Blond hair is rare all over the world but in particular in Asian societies. That makes it exotic and desirable so, artists reflect that in their stories. For example, nobility existed in Asia and these people looked closer to current Asians than Europeans but if you do the maths, most isekai are set in a pseudo European setting.

I read a few articles about it a while back (when I got the research bug which rarely happens lol) and this isn't disconnected from European beauty standards, love/hate relationship with American trends (the Japanese in particular have a complex relationship with the US, for obvious reasons) and so on...

Maybe its just the one's your reading too. Most of webtoons/mangas i am currently reading are brown, silver, or black hair.

Made me recheck the all genres, there's a different variety of hair color but yeah I'm seeing more blonde I read a lot so maybe that's why I'm seeing them, I'm not being blondephobic I'm just saying what I've seen and I've already seen Green hair so I don't think a color wheel of hair color and types will hurt as long as it's in the fantasy genre☹

Oh sorry i might have offended you. I mean i know that blonde thingy about fls. But i just notice recent popular webtoons has varities of hair colors now compared in the past. I often read multiple webtoons/mangas before with blonde fls that i often forgot what webtoon was it. So i get what you mean. I just meant todays webtoon fls hair color are more diverse compared to mls. That black haired red eyes ml are always in the trend

No, no you're good comment sections is the whole point of interacting so a conversation about different perspectives and thoughts are well expected but no I'm not angry it's just a conversation about wanting more hair diversity like maybe more dyed medieval/fantasy hair types that you'll usually see if someone were cosplaying a fantasy character from a game, not just like hair color tho but maybe dyed hair with one long ass braid on the side

I'm not so good at drawing digital, but I'm just sharing my thoughts but I feel like that'll also help give other artists inspiration as to what would attract more readers, if ppl see something different they'll definitely itch to read it but it can't just be only different... she'll have to slay

It mainly depends on the setting. If you read stories that are set in modern time or Asia, more often you will see black/brown hair MC. If you read historical stories, more often you will see blonde MC. Though it’s more common for it to happen in manhwa, that you can find all the colors of the rainbow as hair color for the MC lmao. Either way, I don’t think manga authors care much about the hair color of the mc, since manga is mainly not colored anyways lol.
