lowkey so tired of hwayoung. 104 chapters and this man is still a bad dom. idk, i like seeing the development of characters, but i feel like this author just puts these characters in the same problems each arc but just with different fonts. i feel bad for gyuwon tbh.
idk yall agree or disagree? i just feel so iffy about this manhwa

I defo see where ur coming from but I don't 100% agree.
First bit was them getting into a relationship, B-plot being the stalker.
Second bit was establishing/building trust, with the blonde fucking around, Hwayoung breaking separating from Dungeon, and Hwayoung's family making Gyuwon run the club.
I think we're at the part where both guys are facing their pasts in a more direct way; either solidifying or shaking the foundation of the relationship.
It's been a long and very quiet issue that's been brought up in the story, but the other doms are pretty jealous of the main couples relationship (for various reasons). And then the mercs Gyuwon used to run with are coming back which may pick at bro's insecurities.
One thing that definitely holding the story back is the amount of smut that this comic has (i mean, i personally enjoy it- but thats not the point). There's so much of it, it actually interrupted the latest chapter. So it makes the story feel like it's stopping and starting, and even going nowhere- and these characters have developed, but theyre making moves that feel weirdly contradictory.
The thing i find interesting is the little things that sort of explain the moves Hwayoung takes. Bro is nowhere near perfect, with how extremely possessive he is, but in this last part, he's willing to introduce Gyuwon to play parties. Chances are the party scene is going to happen, and IF it does, im really interested to see how it'll play out. Cuz the thing is, Gyuwon isn't a victim to Hwayoung, right. Bro WANTS to be with him. And while I BELIEVE I see Hwayoung's line of thinking of doing this, I can't confirm it until we get the chapters, yknow? Going to the party isn't a test of Gyuwon's loyalty. If im reading correct, theyre playing the game because Hwayoung wants to/is thinking about it.
Hope i made some sense here I'd love to know what aspects of the story u feel are repeating, because I might just be biased/blind, and not considering something that you've noticed!

Nah for me it's not the lack of normal sex. A good example of bdsm is "my partner's taste and fetishes" where for the vast majority of the book they don't do anything vanilla. Hwayoung comes off as incredible controlling and possessive, even OUTSIDE of their dynamic. It's sad how people see BDSM as that - complete control, use of a person like an object at ALL times. If it was there stated dynamic to be 24/7 constant roles ig I would understand - but there's literally a part where Hwayoung goes "I'm not looking for DS lifestyle".

Just for clarification purposes, Hwayoung said that prior to acknowledging that he wanted to keep Gyuwon on a more permanent, exclusive basis. At some point, both guys acknowledge eachother as "My dom/sub". They might not have said it in plain speech, but its evident in their actions and interactions they've shifted into a d/s lifestyle/relationship (for example, the time hwayoung made gyuwon a leather harness, gyuwon willing put that shit on, and kept it on (chap 83-84 i thiiiink???)). Verbal evidence is when Gyuwon says "I am not your sub" to that one blonde guy. Implies that either he is not a sub to be had or he is a sub that belongs to someone else. As the audience, we know it's the latter implication.

for me it's not the fact they have a lot of issues or they are in a full time d/s life style, it's how they think about these things. all their thoughts and words are within a bdsm context, which i think is weird and makes it seem superficial. even with 24/7 ds they, especially hwayoung, feel like they never think of the other one as "my partner, my boyfriend" etc.
i'm not saying they should be all lovey dovey to seem like they have a relationship, but it's always the perfect sub, perfect dom, how he struggle with jealousy, how he struggles with shame, other doms wanting him, him looking at other subs etc. almost none of their problems/affection dont revolve around or include play and nothing else. it feels like they are just really posessive and loyal fuckbuddies.

i’m sooo tired of authors feeling like they have to pair every character up. like i skipped ahead and the second ml ends up with the guy who tried to ruin mc’s career?? like dude where is ur loyalty to ur friends? idk its so icky. im gonna try this again later, but rn just gonna take a break bc this story’s a little boring anyways.

LONGGG review of why I’m dropping this.
At first I loved loved LOVED this story. I still think this story is amazing where it is in the manhwa right now. However, I’m going to drop this.
The villain kidnaps Hawon , rapes him and keeps him captive. ML takes him back after six month(?) and he’s pissed and ends up raping him so brutally he ends up hospitalized. ML finds out about his circumstances(i think), feels bad over everything he’s done. Apologizes, they fall in love properly(not really i suppose but these are the spoilers i’m given so just saying what i read) and have their happily ever after. The villain Aeil is given 10% of the ML’s company shares and is for some reason in good terms with our main couple. The End.
…I have many issues with this ending. Aside from the unnecessary rape, I’m honestly just very confused. Who was this made for?? You can make the argument that the author is trying to make a realistic depiction of the shady underworld of the rich, of the fact that they take advantage of those who are less fortunate. Some of the rich characters in this story are pedophiles, and the rest of them are rapists. Pretty realistic if you ask me.
Hawon despises the rich characters in this story, a victim of basically all of them. I find it very hard to believe that he ends up marrying one of them, happily so. The villain basically is the winner of this story, and it makes me question why.
This story makes the point that the rich have all of the power in this story. If Hawon marries one of them, you’d think becoming one of them he takes advantage of his new status by taking out all of those who wronged him. Dont get me wrong, the tone of this story is not one that is set up to have a happy ending. I wasn’t expecting one, but what I also wasn’t expecting was that neither MC or ML who falls in love with him don’t kill Aeil who’s wronged them both.
The story makes it a point that the rich are terrible because they have the the ability to take advantage of the poor, but this point falls flat because the MC now is rich and doesn’t have any restrictions to not take action. I am not saying this is a requirement for him to do. Victims do not have an obligation to take action against their abusers. The situation of a victim not being able to report or do anything to take down their rapist is a complex subject where there is no fault to be had for the victim. But I am mostly angry at ML who decides not to do anything??? Like hello the guy you now love WAS A VICTIM?? Like you’re one of the most powerful people in the country, you have ways of taking down this man like be so fucking for real.
according to spoilers Hawon and ML are on good terms with the villain Aeil. Whether intentional or not, Hawon becomes the people he hates the most. He’s a rich man who by being on good terms with a rapist, and by him and ML not taking any action against Aeil basically Aeil to continue prospering. And when I mean prospering, can continue to make gain more victims because his status lets him get away with it.
So yeah, Hawon goes from being a victim of the rich rapists, becomes rich and watches his fellow rich continue to keep doing what they’re doing. Taking advantage of the poor.
Great note to end this story on.
Was this just a oneshot or is the artist going to make it a story?
