Fudanshi (?) I read almost everything | Started reading BL/Yaoi a lot more after I was told it's basically shoujo with just as cheesy stories. Fantasy is usually my go-to.
Generally, I like reading fantasy the most because the genre feels like a common outlet for many writers to be creative with their stories. It also helps me improve my own writing for my stories.
Stories with historical setting, pertaining to any past era/period.
❁ Many of these are set in Japan and China, but I also really love the ones with european ambient/about european history.
❁ Among the characters there can be samurai, royal/noble, pirate etc.
❁ They may involve actual historical persons/references.
❁ And some may involve fantasy/supernatural elements, time travel etc.
