ok so im on chapt 4, and i can't lie, i always love my smutty bls with complexity and nuance, but...sometimes we dont need super complicated stories?? bahah
well. the story itself isn't complicated---the storytelling is. other people in the comment section said they struggled to understand their dialogue, and i don't think it's just because of their vocabulary or the translation (which is amazing here, but can interfere with comprehension). they speak in circles around each other, repeat things often, take panels and panels to resolve a conversation even though they came to a conclusion pages ago. they are in a limbo of being simultaneously sure and unsure of their feelings, with it flip-flopping drastically in a matter of panels, and its frustrating to wade through and try to understand.
and this limbo is looooooong! their sex scenes are so bloated (not...like that) because they cant resolve a conversation without having to circle back to the beginning >3 times. i cant even enjoy the sex because, respectfully, THEY WONT SHUT UP!!! and by the time they shut up the author just cuts to the next scene. what.
its so hard for them to just feel secure and enjoy the moment, which i see is probably partially because of their traumas (presumably?), but holy shit is that communicated poorly! trying to make a sex scene both raunchy/lascivious through provocative drawings, and also revealing of the characters' insecurities through buttloads of dialogue, almost never works. evidently the author gets tired of it too lmao, chapt 3's sex scene is literally cut before the penetration, because it seems the dialogue was more important than the sex. THEN COMMIT TO IT!! figure out if you want all the lewdness and raunchiness in your sex scenes or if you want introspection and discussion, because trying to do both only worsens both unless you can handle the balance!

Ummm... Not really. On chapter 35 Luke says "it still hurts" and Andrew replies "I don't think so; you shouldn't lie to me". Okay, even if that fingering wasn't truly hurting Luke, Andrew doesn't have the right to say something about what the other one is feeling. If someone says wait, the other party has to wait. If someone says stop, the other party has to stop.
I mean, this story is great. Truly beautiful, touching and all. But it doesn't fall far from the path of other manhwas. It still has that lingering feeling of dubious consent and that the all mighty top knows best
