Most diabolical season finale ever icb they've blue balled me for 7 months already

tofu December 30, 2024 5:19 pm

Wait did i just witness with my own two eyes, a manhwa that acknowledge the gravity of an adult having a relationship with a minor??? Ohhhh my god this is what i've wanted to see being addressed for so long! That sexual violence is not always straightforward, that an adult SHOULD always know better in any situation involved with a minor, and that this thing -- a teacher having a sexual relationship with his high school student -- is something vile that cannot be justified whatever the situation is! Damn, my heart almost exploded from how cathartic it was to read this manga, to see everyone scorn the abuser without any ounce of pity as it should be. All that, with such great writing and characters on top of it. Truly one of the best BLs ever written.

Ooooohhhh this should've been longer, i loved the stories of people they helped, and i was hoping for it to be more episodic/case-based. Each of the conflict is so fascinating, sadly they're not explored more! How was Yoonjae gonna survive after? Wasn't his existence still defying fate? What about the Dragon King's son, Lady Margot, the Dokkaebis and other creatures? What the hell was Sobyeol's role, exactly? Why was Dabyeol always in slumber and what was the brothers' relationship like? What's with Beomjin's Grandaunt story/flashback? And so on, so on! I'm so curious about every character in this manhwa because they fascinate me so much, but alas, it's already over.

HOLY CRAP THIS AUTHOR I SWEAR TO GOD

tofu December 18, 2024 6:10 am

This story stressed me the fuck out man, i dropped this once already but i thought i'd give it another chance and actually finish it but goddd. Reading this as someone on the spectrum gave me anxiety, the ending is so abrupt (forsaking an awesome scholarship for a two month relationship like come onnn), they barely knew each other and their communication skill made me wanna bang my head on the wall. Or is that what the author intended? I know that their relationship is so frickin messy as a contrast to Sangwoo's orderly life, but they remind me too much of my college friends' overly dramatic (and short lived) relationships and yeahhhh not my cup of tea i guess.

PS. Art is superb but the visual storytelling that i loved so much in season 1 is nowhere to be found in season 2 and 3. At least Jaeyoung is smokin hot, i'll give you that.

.........i can't be the only one who's dissapointed in season 2 and the ending, can i? It's just that season 1 set up such a good premise and conflict, and season 2 couldn't live up to its hype. And the ending just.....doesn't fit at all. Like fine, it's a happy one, but it feels like an ending to a different story, not theirs. Simply put, it's incredibly rushed and fairy tale-ish, and now i feel empty instead of relieved that it's ended.

    I agree :/

After so much emotional build up, the breakdown of it all was done too quickly for my taste. I am so happy that it ends happy, but idk.. these last chapters could have been in a side story instead to give room to actually finishing the season with the same intensity of season 2

Hmm I think this happened due to hiatus, the author had more plot but each plot got scrapped as it was mentioned in the upcoming authors note and she just wanted to end this

Right :( like what do you mean jin knew how to build a house, that's so random? And the fact that matthew's grandmother has been watching him all this time without helping him even once is just..... urgh. It's so forced and weird and very out of the blue :(

in my opinion it's been downhill since the drug-rape plot, this manhwa had been different than others but since that chapter it became very cliche and allover the place.

Yeah, I struggled so much to tomach that whole drug thing Matthew did, like no, I don't think there's a scenario where that is excusable ( ̄へ ̄)

I LOVE YOU CHICOOOOOOO

tofu December 8, 2024 11:26 am

The relationship is like a shining beacon of light and pureness but i just can't stand the sex scenes. I literally hate them so much, why should jinha cry about how much it hurt over and over again?? Why is this even a thing in manhwas like seriously, seeing your partner in pain during sex is NOT a cute trope, authors please get a grip i just want to see my babies being wholesome without having to tiptoe around shitty sex scenes!

    KenDiana35 December 10, 2024 9:49 am

UGH GOD YES I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels like this(/TДT)/

tofu December 7, 2024 9:55 am

I want people to understand that they're father and son for real, eventhough they're unrelated by blood. It's pseudo incest, and i wish people would stop denying it by arguing that they're not actually related, because Nanmu cleary raised Pilgyun for 6 years since Pilgyun was 5 years old, and they clearly view each other as dad and son AS WELL as lovers. It's a fucked up dynamic between fucked up people, i personally love it because it never pretended to be otherwise, so people please do the same :D It is meant to be fucked up, just own it!

    FujoNeesan December 16, 2024 6:29 am

Thank-you!! My thoughts exactly. At some point, it may be sort of like a kink to them. Idk it's fucked up, raunchy and hot in a yaoi-fiction kind of way.

I'm just enjoying it as it is

Yesss people seem to be uncomfy with Pilgyun calling Nanmu "dad", but if you think about it, there are a LOT of BL manhwas out there with pseudo-incest theme, where someone raised a kid and ended up being their lover when the kid grew up. It's just that those manhwas aren't this blatant, so people can pretend that the relationship isn't fucked up. It's impossible to do that with this manhwa though. That's why i love and respect this author for embracing the problematic theme, and writing the characters and story accordingly.
