I think it's a struggle between the genuine feelings they have for eachother and what happened in the past before the female lead took over Lilliana's body, though I think it is moreso that FL is constantly walking on eggshells knowing mac (mag? Idfk) wants revenge on her, while he is constantly conflicted on how he feels about her with her being so wicked and cruel in the beginning and then becoming so sweet. It is what has me so addicted to this, the confusion and apprehension between them both while also having feelings, and it's such a messy situation that simple communication can't even fix. Just ugh, so good.
