So just started the newest chapter and my guess is she's teething. Slight fever, whiny, chewing on everything are all usually present when teeth start coming. When my daughter was teething, I had special teething toys I could put in the fridge or slightly freeze she could chew on to help with the discomfort.

Honestly good point, why didn't the mom start working instead of pushing it all onto her young son. This ain't the 1950s. Now if she was working and they still needed more income, I can kinda understand wanting to ask for help. She's making her older son bring in the income and her younger son is doing the cooking, homegirl ain't LEAST get a part time job. You got the time and extra help from your sons. Also why did home boy have to be all weird about the letter, at this point he's just a kid who simply loves his brother, and to say he only helped him cuz mom told him too. not an excuse for the mom because i definitely agree that she should have started working, but japan is incredibly sexist towards women in the workplace. it’s still basically expected that as soon as a woman gets married (or even engaged) she should leave her job and become a mom/housewife.
and i think that married women are discriminated against in the workplace because they think that they’re going to leave after having kids anyway and they aren’t dedicated to the company
