I really loved this series and the dynamic between the leads but I'm gonna have to drop this. I feel it's going the same route Roses and Champagne did (I also dropped that). I'm not a fan when authors take this route with their leads then try to excuse it later like it never happened. Idk I hope it works out for all of you who will stick with it, cheers!

I think he blames himself because he as blamed by Yuma before when he was sexually assaulted at first. When you are sa and someone blames you, even if they retract their statement and say it’s not your fault in the end you can’t help but feel you’re the one in the wrong. It’s sad.

I'm glad the mother stepped away knowing she was at her breaking point to protect her daughter and seek help. My only thing is why didn't she report her husbands affair to her parents? Wouldn't it be bad for her family's business if it got out the man they set their daughter up with is a rat bastard?
She may feel or think (possibly rightly so, since it is this way in some stories) that her parents may just tell her that she just needs to accept it. That divorce would be much worse in their eyes than a man who has affairs. And who knows? Her parents may have affairs themselves. They don't exactly come off as caring parents or even decent ones.

I think he parents were overbearing i mean I'm some case the Parent could be the one blaming their own daughter for the affair and that they need him as a CEO. and it seems the parents weren't good people so she mightof been scared that if she went to her parents they might just take the child and harm her emotionally so she stayed away from them

i think she did leave them diapers, milk, food. maybe she thought was enough or maybe she couldn't take out a large amount of money... and since she is at a rehab program maybe they limit that.... i mean she might have a shared bank with the rat husband and she doesn't want him to know she ran away and taking out a large amount of money would notify him
With that kind of husband, she is most likely on a VERY strict "allowance" and couldn't access any decent amount of money to give them without putting herself at risk of her husband's wrath.
I could see that, too. Her parents saying that if she were a "better wife" he wouldn't be having an affair. The poor woman most likely spent her entire life emotionally and mentally abused, with her only safe haven being Dustin.

Technically Dustin is flowing with money in her eyes. They both come from family’s with the same tax bracket so she might not know his parents cut him off bc of his grades
oh probably that too.... however if she knew him family situation which mean how much of an airhead he is is she okay with leaving her baby to him... Tho I guess it also means she knows how kind he is by picking up strays and donating to animal rescue so she know he wont refuse her
Yeah. We also though have to take into consideration that her husband wouldn't be caring for the baby, and possibly would abuse her, and her parents would definitely send her and the baby packing because of "appearances" and how she should go back to her husband and "suck it up." And if either her husband or parents DID, by some miracle of a chance, agree to keep the child (and hire nannies or whatnot, since they, themselves, wouldn't be able to be bothered), they would most likely never allow her near her daughter ever again.
As I mentioned in an earlier reply, Dustin is probably the only decent person she has ever known in her life, thus her only safe haven and choice for keeping her daughter safe and out of an orphanage or whatever their equivalent of a foster care system is. I.E. the only way to ensure she gets her daughter back once she is well.
So I just read all of this last night and let me say, I love both leads and how they're written.
