Also, if you consider context clues and all the other details, there are reasons not to hiss at the manga due to the circumstances of both characters. Any other circumstances and this would have been horrible. It's still a bit creepy cuz age gap but ok since the author handled it well.
However, if you go down the "age is just a number" and "she loves him" path then you're legit using the type of logic pedos and maps will use. A minor cannot consent. If you use your logic then you might as well say that a 6-year-old and a 50-year-old can date. No, just no.

Age-wise they met at 16, enough time has passed for her to grow significantly so personally, I view her as 18 plus. Like IMO, this manga is basically walking the fine between ok and not ok and somehow it hasn't fallen off. But things are shady.
