Guys I watched the drama n I'm a little confused so please help me out.
wei Ying dies and wakes up 16 years later. Lan Zhan recognised him so he saves him I think. And Wei ying ask him how he recognised that he was Wei ying. Now the thing is Wei ying changed his body didn't he? I mean into the guy who likes ( idk his name , the one who wears the gold dress. That guy was kicked out by the gold dressed guy). Is that why people couldn't recognise Wei ying? The thing is that in the drama Wei ying is still played by Xiao Zhan in both the roles so I got confused.
The drama is not completely accurate but they did it so that Wei would wear a mask so no one could recognise him and everyone thinks he's Mo instead since not a lot of people haven't actually met and knew him on a deeper level they just visualize him as a monster (plus keep the actor). Either way in both novel and drama Wei plays a piece on his flute that was composed by Lan Zhan and Lan Zhan has never played the piece to anyone but Wei so that's how he recognised him in both.
Because in the drama Mo gave up his body to resurrect Wei, Wei completely took over and had his original body, unlike the novel where Wei basically looks a little like Mo (like being shorter than before) but has his own defining features. Plus him acting crazy in the beginning, no one questioned that it wasn't Mo. It's only until they see him summon the ghost general and how his character changed that a few became suspicious. Anyways other than a few of the main characters, everyone else thinks it's just Mo and treats him as such (calling him a cut sleeve and being disgusted in his presence). Hopefully this helps (=・ω・=)
