Not really. The sex slaves and orgies are for practical reasons tho. The dude's a 1000 year old vampire whose existence is literally dependent on sex. So, not ideal to judge him from a human perspective in my opinion.

He does it 'cause bites illicit sexual arousal, but he could just let them fuck each other and not join in. He has sex with them 'cause it's just another act to him. It isn't an intimacy thing lol
The same way a vampires' depedent on blood is fictional, THIS vampire's dependent on sex is fictional also. It's what the author has chosen and there's nothing wrong with it. The fact is that THIS vampire needs a LOT of sex to exist and that's what the author shows.

It's really up to the author what spin they put on any fiction. Vampires are not real and all stories about them are made up. So there are no facts to uphold. An author can decide to make vampires vegetarian, Buddhist in their story and it will be completely valid.
